I arrived in A&E via my GPs surgery and Ambulance Service of three superb Paramedics, presenting with my history of and symptoms indicating heart problem/?stroke, received by very kind Staff Nurse, documented by SHO and provisionally diagnosed with nerve damage to three major arm nerves, later confirmed by MRI scan, CT scan and X ray to rule out other possibilities. Seen by Consultant in Medicine, SHO Medicine, Registrar in A and E and Consultant in Neurology who all agreed with SHO. Damage caused by a very tight BP machine inflator cuff during a 24 hour home BP recording a week previously. All Countess Staff who dealt with me were professional, welcoming, sympathetic and caring, putting me (and wife) at ease thus attracting my/our complete confidence in their open deliberations. Pain relief drugs prescribed, follow up appointments and treatment plans determined and arranged, fed and watered then discharged home within same working day with potential for full recovery of hand that is not functioning as it should. Thank you all, sincerely. I wish you all great success in your chosen professions.
