We've recently moved to the area and have transferred maternity hospitals from UCLH. I was really dubious about attending this hospital as the reviews on here are so bad. I went to visit the hospital and found the staff to be really helpful and welcoming. And a massive bonus is that the unit is brand new - so they've got all the latest equipment. Really nice to be in. I'm quite late on in my pregnancy, so I can't speak for the early antenatal care, but I had my first midwife app on Saturday (I'm 37 weeks) and it was excellent. We were only kept waiting for about 10 mins and the midwife was caring, understanding, sympathetic, clear and very thorough. I had my first baby at UCLH (brilliant hospital but not without its faults), and really wanted my second there, but it's just too far. North Mid is a 10 min drive away for us which is brilliant. I'm already booked in to see a consultant on Thursday which I was impressed by. I should add I also had a scan there a few days before. We did have a long wait (about 45mins), but the sonographer was quick, clear, helpful and clam. Honestly, I was so worried about joining North Mid, everyone told me it was a terrible hospital - particularly for maternity care - but so far I've found it nothing but good. So, thanks North Mid, I'm now looking forward to having my baby with you, and to everyone else, don't believe everything you read. Trust your own opinions and experiences. And I would encourage others who have had good experiences to write a review on here, just so it's a bit more balanced.
