My daughter went in for her tonsils to be removed 22nd May from the time we went to the hosipital from the time we left the staff were very helpful, caring and attentive - noting was too much trouble. I particularly like the way they spoke to my daughter about her care even though she is only 6 they tried to make her feel as comfortable and at ease as they could. I think that the nurses are a real credit to the team and they not only make the children feel welcome but also show emapthy towards the parents. The surgeon aslo showed the same amount of empathy. I thought it was very good of the aneastist to come and see my daughter before she finished her shift. From the surgeon to the volunteer lady who changed the beds all of the staff were very good and friendly. I thought it was good that the night staff came to see their patients when they started their shift, also the matron. If there was anything i would say the hospital could improve is the wait for the medication, it was going to take around 3 hours. We were given the option of waiting or returning later. We decided to return later however this was an inconvenience, also if people do not have the option to come back early they may choose to wait which could mean that beds are taken longer than they need to be. Although this feedback is not directed to the childrens ward as they were all excellant. Many thanks to all of the staff that looked after my daughter so well - i am grateful. Mrs Beckett
