My farther in law has been on ward 30 area 4 on the 3rd floor since Friday with fluid on his lungs , this is now being drained. Since Friday his bedding has only been changed once and this was only after request from the family. Tonight at visiting time he was found in a urine saturated bed , that was also covered in quite a large amount of blood. when the staff were asked about changing the bed they were told that the bed covers were in a cupboards somewhere down there and if we would like to change them we were welcome to. which we obliviously did. we also found his medication on the floor, and when this was pointed out to the staff we were told its OK its only paracetamol. what’s happening can not be described as care, we will be taking this further as we have lots of photographic and video evidence. i will be contacting the Chief Executive first thing in the morning.
