"Is this a pituitary gland related illness?"

About: University Hospital Of Hartlepool / Endocrinology

(as the patient),

I am appalled at the refusal to be seen by an endocrinologist at Hartlepool, after being referred for a change in appearance and a weight loss of 4 stone with all the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Diseases of the pituitary are very complex, and there are so many people that are misdiagnosed as depressed and told there is nothing wrong with them, while their illness gets worse. I have not had any diagnosis for any of my symptoms, apart from bilateral carpul tunnel, which is a well documented symptom of pituitary disorders. How the medical profession can rule this out, without doing the appropriate testing is just not good enough. I feel too ill and too tired to argue with doctors anymore. I don't know whether I am right in thinking this could be pituitary related, but these symptoms certainly should be investigated further. I hope this concern gets passed on to the endocrinology department, and would like to bring there attention to the Pituitary Foundation and all the patients that have taken so long in getting a diagnosis, when they have been told by the people that they go to for help, that they are depressed or imagining there symptoms.
