"Great care after mountain bike accident"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

Recently, I had a mountain bike accident at Killroughtree Mountain bike trail and was attended to by Stuart Mars & Jim Byrnes of Newton Stewart Ambulance Station. I was taken by Air Ambulance to DGRI with suspected head & neck injuries.

As a Paramedic myself I wanted to pass on my sincere gratitude and thanks to the crew who who attentive, caring and professional & kept my spirits up. Many thanks again you are an asset to the service!

Dear Gilly2064,

Thank you very much for getting in touch with us through Patient Opinion. As a Paramedic yourself you'll know how important it is to reassure patients during an incident - what can often be a very frightening time.

I'm sure that Stuart and Jim will be very pleased to hear your comments - as will Garry Fraser, our General Manager for the South West and Air Wing.

I do hope that you're feeling much better and will be out on the trails again soon.

Kind Regards,

Daniel Quee,

Communications Assistant
