"Rehabilitation after hind quarter amputation"

About: Retford Hospital / Rehabilitation Specialist Nursing Services / Clinical specialist physiotherapy (CLISP)

(as the patient),

I had a large complex surgery to remove a tumour in my hip bone. I stayed in hospital for 6 weeks and was sent home with an open wound.

I had an excellent district nurse service as well as a brilliant community physiotherapy. This allowed me to start walking with a prosthetic leg and be able to drive and get back to work.

Update posted by michael smith (the patient)

I am glad that this is being picked up to pass my gratitude to all the staff that were involved and hopefully it will make others encouraged with such outcome.

I am keen that all involved feel proud about their service, as I am a doctor myself. I know how important to have positive feedback as well as negative.

Good luck
