Having had unsuccessful surgery at another NHS Trust 18 months ago and not reassured with that hospital's follow-up diagnosis and proposals, my partner specifically asked her GP for a referral to a named Endocrinologist and a surgeon at the Hammersmith. We have since been able to thank both gentleman personally for what they and their respective teams have achieved following the excision of an offending tumour on 6 March 2014. What we were not aware of at the time of asking for a second opinion referral was the excellent support that would also be provided through the expertise of the staff in the Imaging Department. From first reception in May 2013 to eventual surgical discharge on 25 March 2014 I really can't see how any of Hammersmith's services could have been bettered. All staff were so very considerate and helpful which provided an air of confidence and reassurance. Our 6-hour round journeys to attend the dozen or so different consultations in the intervening months were well worth it. A sincere thank you all, from my partner and me.
"Excellent teamwork"
