There has been a lot of bad press about this hospital in recent months and I was concerned sbout having my surgery here because of that, coupled with other severe anxieties due to previous bad experiences in another hospital. However, I need not have worried at all, from start to finish I was treated with great care and compassion. After my pre assessment I felt reassured. Unfortunately my op had to be cancelled the afternoon before it was due but the Admin staff dealing with that were apologetic and helpful and although it was frustrating I was given a new date and the op was rescheduled within a week of the first date. On admission the care I received was exemplary, from the actual admission process right through to discharge. After my op I spent 9 hours in recovery, and during that time witnessed some of the most brilliant nursing skills ever (with regard to lots of other patients not just myself). Every effort was made to get me fit enough to return home the same day as was the original intention and my preference, but when for clinical reasons I had to be admitted overnight the ward care was also very good. Every member of staff I encountered during my stay, Drs, Nurses, Porters and Admin staff were polite courteous and kind. Whatever problems this hospital has, the medical care I received this week could not have been bettered. I'm now recovering well at home and am thankful for such excellent care and such a positive experience.
"Experience could not have been bettered. Exemplary..."
