I have been ill since June this year - this is the second 'bout' of this 'illness' in 3 years.
I have had 1 outpatients appointment since June and as I have multiple symptoms, I was keeping a diary to record frequency etc.
Sadly the neurologist refused to look at the diary and asked me not to refer to it. (doctor knows best?)
I missed telling him of the cramps I suffered (at the time they were infrequent and other symptoms were more prevalent) Now the cramps are so bad my mobility is reduced to 15 minutes activity before the pain and cramps set in - if I yawn my neck and throat muscles cramp up giving a painful choking sensation I cannot get further than halfway down the first aisle of the supermarket and doing my hair is virtually impossible, as is climbing the stairs. I can't take painkillers or NSAIDs as they have caused stomach problems.
I use to be active - , cycling , dancing, running up and down stairs and now I am less mobile than my 76 year old mother.
I worked and my work involved travel - I can't even get ready for work let alone get there - I want so much to go back and return to my life but my next appointment is at the end of January.
I hate making a fuss because others have serious life threatening illnesses but now I am becoming housebound and depressed - I am in my early 40s - I don't know where to turn to next my GP seems disinterested. Can anyone suggest what I can do to get help.
