What I liked
The Surgeon was excellent.Very thorough and informative, pre-op and post-op.
Most of the nursing staff were very friendly and professional.
The food was healthy and variable, good portions and served hot.
What could be improved
The lack of communication between the senior nurses on the ward caused quite a lot of misunderstanding, in particular, i was advised by my surgeon to spend an extra two days in hospital because of complications with my surgery. This info was not passed on and i was rudely approached by one of the nurses who later apologized for her behaviour.(Apology accepted).
Also, although the ward i was on was always cleaned regularly, I discovered silverfish insects on the ward, especially at night.
Anything else?
I totally except, the shorter the stay in hospital, the better. The patient recovers better at home and it Free's the bed up for another patient.
My stay was unfortunately extended, and as a result of that, I felt as if the nurses on my ward,(one in particular) became quite hostile. I then felt quite depressed and considering the surgery i had, would have liked all their support, no matter what the circumstances.
