On the first day of our half term break to Looe, my daughters tube which connects her insulin pump to her cannula cracked. Despite have a suitcase full of equipment this was the one thing we didn't bring a spare of. As it was her birthday she'd had a few treats and as, unbeknown to us, no insulin was being administered her blood sugar level was 39! All staff at the hospital - from the man at the reception desk, the A&E staff and the doctors and nurses on the ward were all brilliant. The care my daughter received was 1st class and manner in which the staff treated her was extremely caring and understanding. The ward staff were very accommodating of us, even though I had my 6 year old son in tow and I fainted off in the middle of everything they were always very kind and patient.
