I was really nervous having to be put to sleep for the first time but everyone at Bev stokes day surgery was fantastic and really put me at ease. The nurses were so helpful and caring and I got a real sense of them wanting me to be ok and comfortable. The anaesthetists saw me twice to explain and reassure me then the surgeon came to see me to explain the procedure. As I was laid waiting to be put to sleep everyone was so nice and chatty to take away my scariness and as I was dropping off I definitely felt happy and someone was stroking my hand. When I woke up someone was there reassuring me and got me a hot drink and some toast and sat and talked to me. They helped me to a nice comfy chair. So helpful. Both the anaesthetist and the surgeons came to see me and how I was doing and generally seemed like they wanted to know if I was ok and not just there because they "have" to. The nurse went through all my aftercare. Really nice to chat too. And when my husband came to pick me up they offered him a cuppa before we left which I've never known in other parts of the hospital, even he was shocked ha. Very nice experience all in all. Thank you so much for making something I have been worried about very pleasant indeed
