My sister diagnosed with cancer was refered to your hospital over five years ago for total clearance of pelvic lymph glands. We live in the north west of England, so for her first outpatient appointment I went along with her and her husband. This was a very worrying time for us all. When we arrived at the hospital we were amazed by how pleasant all the staff were, we were treated in a way I can only describe as first class. The consultant was both kind and forthright and gave a full explanation of the procedure he was going to carry out. At the end of the day all tests had not been completed so we were asked to stay over. My sister was reluctant to do this but ther consulant stressed that he would find somewhere for us all to stay, this he did. A couple of weeks later my sister had her operation and remains well to this day. What would we do without centres of excellence like yourselves.
