Following my wife's emergency in the early hours of the morning we were kept waiting outside in the lobby A & E for admission for over 40 mins. There did not appear to be anyone in front of her waiting treatment.
Once we got admitted my wife was treated very and I cannot praise the staff enough. She was then moved to assessment where she was treated like something on the bottom of ones shoe. Only asking minor questions about her treatment, etc, was met with a seemingly condescending and abrupt answer. I spoke to the nurse in question and spoken to just the same. I told her she had no right speaking to us in that way and might report her. I only wish I had taken her name a done so.
Following this talk she was a little better but then my wife was moved yet again into the short stay ward where she was treated very well.
The only other problem came when she was discharged. She was unceremoniously taken from the ESS in her night clothes and 'plonked' into the discharge lounge amongst all and sundry. Lucky for her she had a coat she could put around her as there were other elderly women and men without any cover at all. Here she was made to wait over 2 hours for her prescription which incidentally was not all there when opened at home.
