I was fortunate enough to be referred to M.V. Cancer Centre under the supervision of a doctor in 2013 and underwent 23 radiotherapy sessions in L8 and a stay in Ward 10. I must say at this point that just before I was diagnosed we had sold our house and arranged to move 150 miles away. To overcome the issue of travelling and all associated worries I was allowed to stay in The Lodge within the hospital grounds for the duration of my treatment. The Lodge was most ably supervised by a lovely Lady who was superb. This gave both me and my Wife enormous relief. I can honestly say that the treatment I received was first class in every respect. From the doctor through to all the Radiology Staff; the Ward Staff; the Booking Staff; the doctor's Secretary. In all my dealings with Staff at the unit I was treated with the utmost professionalism, compassion, respect, humility and good humour by people doing an extremely difficult job under awkward circumstances. It is no exaggeration to say that with the help and assistance of all involved, it helped to turn what was originally a life-changing nightmare situation that I thought would never end; into an entirely bearable one. I sincerely hope these comments are seen by people who will make them known to those concerned as I do genuinely believe they are life-savers. Any further treatment I may now require will continue elsewhere but I would like to say thank you very much indeed.
"A Life-saver, Literally."
