At the very beginning of November last year I attended the X ray dept for the third of a series of Gynae scans, 9 weeks later after no results/letter sent to me I phoned my consultants secretary who told me a letter had been sent to my GP with the results of further problems and that I would need to go back to clinic. She duly gave me an appt given to me for the end of February.
This morn I had a phone call to say that this appt had been put back 2 months to the end of April - why is it my age or financial reasons that my name has been put to the bottom of the lists?
I had a garbled explanation that that was when the consultant would be in clinic---really? Are his clinics only every 2 months then?
I understood that patients are sent copies of the GP letters--so where is mine and this is not the first time I have had this problem with the gynae dept. Do I not deserve to be treated?
Yes it's a minor problem according the the professionals and there are women with far greater medical problems and deserve to be treated first. The write up for your gynae dept on the web site states that "every woman will be treated" however the words missing from that is ' eventually maybe'.
Good Hope---do not ignore your patients you may need our support in the future.
