"Great support from MS Team"

About: Neurosciences (DCN) / Neurology

(as the patient),

After a few years of strange symptoms, my GP referred me to neurology at the Western General Hospital, where I was quickly diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

At this point I was referred to the MS team who have been a source of support, treatment, advice and reassurance since then. Although, thankfully I haven't had to call on them too often, I know the MS nurses are only a phone call away, and will arrange for whatever I might need as my circumstances change.

A fantastic service and one that should be available for all types of neurological problems, not just the ones with large numbers of patients, and a loud voice (sorry MS Society! ).

My only concern is that it is not easy to see a physio who knows a lot about MS and I've found that can make a huge difference during difficult spells. More physiotherapists please!

Thank you though.

Dear Tops93,

Thank you for getting in touch with your positive feedback about the MS Team and our Department of Clinical Neurosciences.

Our staff work hard to ensure that patient care is our top priority and I am glad to see that was the case for you. I have passed on your comments to the team concerned.

Thank you also for raising the matter about physios with training for MS. I have also passed on those comments and will come back to you via Patient Opinion when I have a fuller response for you.
