I had my daughter 5 years ago and i have nothing but praise for the midwives who helped me and my family at the time.
I went into hospital the night before my due date for a routine check only to be told that my darling baby girl had died and that she would be a stillborn baby.
As you can imagine, i was in deep, deep shock, as was my husband. We both thought i would be taken away for an emergency C section but we were told that it would be better for me if i had her as naturally as possible.
All this time and all through the long long night i was never left alone, and the senior midwife (i believe her name is Margaret) stayed with myself and my family helping us through the terrible nightmare.
After my daughter Ellie was born, Margaret said to me that her shift had ended 2 hours ago, but she was going to stay with us all until i was discharged which was around 1pm in the afternoon.
I believe Margaret had done her job above and way beyond the call of duty, she is a lady i will never forget.
