What I liked
I gave birth in July after having a few problems during pregnancy which required me to attend the hospital on a regular basis for a couple of months. Overall the staff on both the ante natal wards and the day unit were great although I got the impression they were incredibly overworked. I would like to especially mention how wonderful the staff were on delivery suite. I could not fault my midwife, she made the whole experience alot easier and really put me at ease after being very anxious on arrival. Thank you so much.
What could be improved
It seemed an absolute trek to get up to delivery suite - especially when in labour!
I found the hospital food appalling - definite need for improvement.
Facilities for warming babies bottles - I have since had to attend hospital on a number of occasions since giving birth and unless I have asked whilst on the wards I have struggled to feed my son as there appears to be a serious lack of facilities (please correct me if Im wrong) The cafe at the front entrance states that they cannot provide hot water for health and safety reasons???? When I asked at the main reception the response I received was "good question - I dont know!"
In response to a comment made by the trust on Feb 18th re: parking - I enquired about the scheme which entitles you to a reduction in payments if you have to attend on a regular basis. The staff at the car parking desk told me no such thing existed and said to park on A&E pay and display instead. I'd appreciate your response to this.
There still needs to be something done about the smoking at the main entrance!!
