The following feedback was received by South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust via an on line Have Your Say survey:
My 85 year old mother-in-law experienced what appeared to be a heart attack (radiating chest pain and very rapid loss of breadth to near unconsciousness). Within 5 minutes of telephoning 999 a paramedic arrived at the house to attend my mother-in-law. An ambulance arrived 2 minutes later and within 15 minutes took her to A&E, where she was kept overnight for observation.
The SWAST paramedics were totally professional and reassuring, throughout what was a very stressful and anxious experience for our family members.
My mother-in-law was discharged from hospital the following day, but it was a great source of reassurance to see the ambulance service respond as one would hope and expect it to.
Thank you for a job well done.
"Totally professional and reassuring"
