What I liked
My son has very recently been on the trauma ward of this hospital (D2). He found the care to be excellent. All the staff without exception were, pleasant, attentive and helpful. My overall experience when visiting was of a happy ward with good patient care.
The standard of cleanliness was amazing considering all the negative media attention. I couldn't fault it. They provided an abundance of 'antiseptic gel' hand dispensers on the wall, as well as attached to each patient locker, for vsiitors, patients and staff alike. As hospital experiences go - this was exceptional.
What could be improved
As expressed my another comment - the bedside TV/telephone/internet is very expensive. Very useful, but perhaps not for the elderly who need an easier and less expensive way of keeping in contact with their friends and relatives.
Also I noticed very many visitors who did not make use of the hand antiseptic gel dispensers. I imagine these are the very people who shout the loudest about hospitals not being as clean as they should be, and how disgusting that patients get a multitude of infections when inpatients - surprise, surprise!!
