Unfortunately my elderly mother had a fall at home over 8 weeks ago and spent 8 weeks in hospital, the majority of the time on Cottage ward at the Princess of Wales in Bromsgrove.
Initially this was such a worry for us all as a family as my mum has dementia and we were so worried about how she would adapt to staying in hospital for such a long period of time.
I have to say that the experience had been wonderful and also very humbling.
The staff on Cottage ward were kind, caring and very supportive of all of my mom’s needs. They have treated her with so much kindness.
Every single member, including all the nurses, care assistants, students, kitchen staff and housekeepers.
My mom has always been made to feel welcome and not an inconvenience despite the challenges dementia can bring.
Every member of staff has been wonderful, but I’d like to mention Baby as she has been so compassionate with my mum and is always just so kind.
We will most certainly miss all the wonderful staff.
Thank you for making a difference within the NHS.
