I had a broken tooth that had been in situ for over 6 months with the roots still retained. The NHS dentist situation was such that there was no capacity to have it taken out by a routine dentist.
Originally I was referred to the hospital dentist as I had a bony overgrowth in the roof of my mouth (Torus) and it had become infected. By the time I saw the hospital dentist the infection of the torus had subsided. But the dentist felt that the tooth had an abscess over it and that it should come out.
So they booked an appointment for October which meant another 6 month wait. But the receptionist was so helpful she put my name down on a cancellation list in case if a appointment came up they would call me. And that’s exactly what happened.
So I went in to have this difficult tooth out. The dentist Mr Honey was so kind and patient with me as I wasn’t very nervous as a previous Dentist actually broke one of my cap teeth taking out another tooth. But Mr Honey was extremely patient with me and very skilled, even though I raised my hand for him to stop at times he did!
The nurses Dianne and Sarah were really helpful and assisted me anyway they could and Dianne explained the after care to me.
An overall a excellent experience.
