About: Maternity care / Antenatal and Postnatal (Ward 38) Maternity care / Labour Suite Ninewells Hospital / Neonatology

(as a service user),

I attended Labour ward for an induction and was cared for by Midwife Callie and her student Lauren. Both were exceptional throughout my labour and made myself and my partner feel at ease, relaxed and informed throughout and afterwards.

I can’t thank them both enough, as well as, the rest of the Labour ward team we met that day due to complications during my labour, who all made me feel safe and well looked after during what could have been a very traumatic experience. 

I was also cared for afterwards on ward 38 South while my son was in the NICU and then later by Ward 38 North where we were cared by a fantastic team of Midwives who made my stay a positive experience.

Neonatal Nurse Rhiannon was also absolutely amazing during our sons stay in NICU and I can’t thank her enough for everything she done for our boy and all the rest of the NICU staff for always making us feel welcome to visit whenever we wanted.

I couldn’t be more grateful to all the ninewells maternity and neonatal staff for how well looked after myself and my son were during our stay.

I wish to offer my congratulations to you on the birth of your baby boy. I hope you are both doing well and enjoying this lovely time introducing a beautiful new baby into the family.

We are very grateful to you, taking the time to share your birth experience with us, and wish to share how valuable it is for us as a service, to have this opportunity to help us shape and develop our maternity services.

Our ethos to offer family centred care, where you feel at the centre of all provision, is key to our success as a service. Supporting women and families to commence their journey as a new family,ensuring their health and wellbeing remains our focus everyday.
