"Covid jab appointment"

About: NHS Lanarkshire / Covid 19 Vaccination Programme

(as a service user),

I received a letter to go and get a Covid jab, and when I arrived at the appointment, I was told I wasn't eligible for it as my immune system was no longer compromised, so why did they send me the appointment.

It is a long journey and I am fortunate that I drive, however, it is an inconvenience if you do not have a car.

Dear Pricilla,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience you experienced when attending your recent Covid vaccination appointment.

Our process for determining eligibility relies on a snapshot of patient data at a specific point in time. Unfortunately, eligibility can sometimes change, as it did in your case. While this is rare, it highlights the importance of our assessment checks.

We understand the frustration and inconvenience this has caused, especially given the long journey you had to undertake. We recognise that this situation is particularly challenging for those without access to a car, and we are sorry for any distress this may have caused.

We regularly review our processes to prevent such errors. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our services.

Thank you once again for highlighting this issue.

Yours sincerely,

Tobias Tipper
