"I was left in the waiting area all day and evening"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (AMU) Ninewells Hospital / Ambulatory Area

(as the patient),

I was admitted a number of weeks ago, to only end up been back admitted to ward 15. I turned up at around in the morning on a Friday to be assessed and checked over, to be then told I will need to be readmitted. I waited from the morning to the evening on a Friday when they now full well that after a certain time on a Friday it means you won't be seen till the Monday.

I was left in the waiting area all day and evening. I really do not have any hope or trust in the hospital what so ever now. It really does make me not want to come to this place.

Dear Jackycb696

I am sorry about the experience you have had within AMU / Ambulatory.

In most cases we should be able to assess and treat patients over the weekend although there may be exceptions. It is difficult for me to provide further comment without more details. I would be happy to look into the circumstances of your admission if you could contact the patient feedback team via TAY.feedback@nhs.scot.

I hope that you are now feeling better and in the event you have to be readmitted you have a more positive experience.

Kind Regards

Linda Nicol
