"Talking Shop in Front of my Dad"

Strange to leave a review like this as the 999 service is brilliant but 4 paramedics recently attended my dad following a fall and struggling with his breathing. Whilst treating my dad (doing obs) the 4 were talking shop and catching up. I should have intervened and reminded them that they were looking after my dad. They checked his urine sample which was ok but didn't listen to my concerns about the offensive smell and his incontinence in the last few days. So they helped him back into bed but did nothing else. I had to call the Dr to get the surgery paramedic back in the afternoon as he deteriorated. He could tell by the smell. He phoned the surgery who sent a prescription to the pharmacy straight away. I picked up the antibiotics. He took 2 doses that day and 1 the following morning as was very much improved. Had I not have called we could have lost my dad, who has parkinsons, as he was very unwell. I think if they were concentrating more they would have diagnosed the UTI in the morning and it would have been less stress for my dad, my mum and I.
