"They all make me feel safe"

About: Care at Home / Care at Home Troon & Prestwick

(as a service user),

I am not one for given feedback - but these ladies are changing an old mans life - each one just knows the right time to make me smile - its a hard job! - I need help with having a wash - getting my clothes on to be frank - I felt very ashamed, in a short space of time this has eased - They are patient too as this old man forgets names - Christine gets Karen - Lynn gets Sam - They all make me feel safe and brighter to start my day.

My only complaint is the office - They forget or don't bother to return calls or call me if the ladies are held up.

Dear fornaxbn79,

Firstly thank you for taking your time to share your feedback with us, especially when this is something you would not normally share.

I am delighted to hear the ladies are changing your life and making you smile. I am sorry to hear you have felt ashamed, although you should feel proud that you have taken steps to ease this, this is such an achievement!

I am sure Christine and Lynn don't mind the forgetting of names, we can all have moments of this. They will be thrilled to learn they have made you feel safe and brighten your start to the day ahead.

I am sorry to hear not all your experiences have been positive, I thank you for sharing this also, I would like to apologies on behalf of the team your calls have not been returned or received a call when the carers have been held up, this is not our usual practice. We have contacted the team to ensure anyone calling in receives a response and also when the carers are running late the individuals are made aware, however this would only occur when safe or practical to do so.

Please contact us by email shona.mctaggart@south-ayrshire.gov.uk or telephone 01292 612047 so we can look into this further.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Kind Regards,

Claire
