As a Carer/Daughter to my 82 year old Mum, am shocked by the way the Surgery system do not cater for elderly/dementia staged patients and the inability to get an appointment due to restrictions on call times to make.
I work full time and expected to work during the time appointments are booked and have tried relentlessly to make appointments for Mum following a 15 year old med being stopped, via telephone, with my Mum. She is illustrating a negative reaction- and calls made (after minimum 48 minutes wait) am told all appointments gone.
The phone message states to use E-consult which helped dramatically- as would get a call back. However, on the site this service is not available. I call at 11.30, message states lunch from 12 and I am 1st in the queue. The call is never picked up..right to 12
Absolutely disrespectful and at a loss as am told to call back.. told appointment gone and then recall again. How is this patient care?
