I recently had an outpatient's appointment with the Fracture Clinic at the Pilgrim Hospital, in Boston. The Nursing Staff were all very nice but the moment I went in to see the Surgeon to discuss my injuries to my hands following a nasty fall 5 weeks ago I could not believe how condescending they were towards me. Basically it was it my fault that my bones were like butter that is why I fell I broke my wrist and badly dislocated my left little finger. And that I should be exercising more.
Well up until the accident I was exercising as much as I could it has been difficult I have osteoarthritis in both hips, knees and now both of my shoulders last year I had a rotator cuff injury and for 6 weeks I had physio and have been doing the exercises ever since.
The surgeon told me that every one claims to have osteoarthritis, well I do. I have have never been so disgusted with how I have been treated by a Doctor in all my days. I left his office and burst into tears.
"Made to feel it was my fault"
