About: University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

Words can't describe how grateful I am for how I was cared for in day surgery.  I was extremely nervous and they made me feel reassured and at ease. My anaesthetist was absolutely amazing and answered all my questions, sorry my veins were rubbish! All the nurses were fantastic, especially Danielle and Fleur. I'm grateful for all their help and making sure I was alright at all times and reassuring me throughout. I appreciate Fleur for sitting with me when I became upset after surgery.

My only disappointment was catering for a patient who is dairy and gluten free due to intolerance. Pre assessment were aware of this in advance. I was only able to have black tea as there was no milk alternative. I was also only able to have the choice of one sandwich. This wouldn't have matter as much if it wasn't for other patients expressing their delight of the choice of sandwiches and biscuits that were available and having extra. Please consider a variety for patients who have food intolerances,  especially when they are easily available elsewhere.  

Other than that, which was a minor issue. My experience was a positive one.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such positive feedback for the staff within Day Surgery at University Hospital Wishaw. It can be such a worrying time having to attend hospital but I am pleased that you felt reassured and at ease with the staff.

I have passed on your lovely comments to Fleur, Danielle and the team.

We have taken note of your Gluten free/dairy free options and will be sure to have stock of some more items available to future patients.
