"This positive experience has restored my faith"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as a service user),

This past few month i have not been feeling well/myself. I have been trying to work out why, changing my diet, decreasing/change accordingly my activity levels to see if this made any difference in my health.

As of last week staff went above and beyond to help me. Before my ward round i had my physical observations taken and my temperature was very high. This was not normal for me. Once staff had noticed this, its was escalated to the health centre.

That same morning i had an ECG which was completed by the nurses from healthcare, i asked them if i could play football and they said they would ask the ACPs and would contact the ward. I was advised by the ACPs not to play football, meaning the healthcare nurses had done what they said they would and this is important to me.

The following day my temperature was still high and ward staff again escalated this. Friday evening a Duty Dr came to see me, waking me up  after lock up and gave me a check up and asked for a urine sample. I wasn't expecting anyone to come and see me and the fact they woke me up after lock up when they could have just waited till the next day made me feel cared for and i appreciated it.

In past experience i have lost trust in the system and can sometimes feel not cared for and not a priority. I just want to thank all those involved from the health centre and the ward and anyone else in between for looking after me when i was unwell.

I think it is really easy to make a complaint but really difficult to recognise positive things. So i just wanted to highlight that what has happened and how it has impacted me and my trust in the system.

Hello,

Thank you so much for taking your time to share this positive experience. We'll ensure both the ward Team and PHC get sight of it.

I do hope you're feeling better.

Chloe.
