"Empathy, understanding and patience"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

I had a lumpectomy carried out at the Day Surgery Unit in Wishaw University Hospital

I cannot praise the staff highly enough leading me and caring for me throughout the whole ordeal.

Naturally, I was very anxious but the nurses all put me at ease with their empathy, understanding and patience. 

Everything about the procedure was explained in detail by the surgeon and the anaesthetists, making sure I understood everything. 

The organisation of the whole procedure was so smooth that time passed so quickly from admission to operating theatre. 

I've had no problems or worries since I was discharge and just wanted to express my gratitude.

It can be a worrying time attending hospital for a procedure and I am so pleased that everything was explained clearly to you and that the nurses put you at ease with understanding, empathy and patience. I am delighted they have all made something unpleasant as easy as possible and you felt listened to.
