"The whole team were amazing"

I recently attended pilgrim hospital for a gynaecology appointment. This appointment was to locate and remove a lost coil, with use of hysteroscopy if required. 

I was obviously very nervous going into this appointment as I had been waiting a long time for this investigation. I was welcomed by the team and instantly put at ease. The nurses and support staff working were very supportive and reassuring. They made me feel relaxed and respected my privacy and dignity throughout. 

The procedure was uncomfortable but they all kept me calm and relaxed throughout. They gained my consent at all stages, discussed at each point what was happening and kept me continually informed. They also made sure I knew I was in control and could pause or stop at any point. The team were incredibly supportive at a time I felt very vulnerable.

As the coil could not be located on this occasion the nurses discussed my options going forward so I could make an informed choice about the next stages. The whole team were amazing. They made me feel relaxed, in control and continually advocated for me throughout. My privacy, dignity and confidentiality were highly respected, especially during such a vulnerable time. I would like to praise this wonderful team.
