I am making this informal complaint about a recent doctor’s review at Chapel Street Clinic, because firmly insist that the professional's approach needs to be more refined and compassionate.
It would have been more wise to use the first session to build up trust and respect. Instead I was expected to discuss traumatic historical abuse, as well as having to describe and justify the symptoms and causes of my CPTSD; which have been well documented and evidenced at this stage.
I believe this was an uncivilised and insensitive way to conduct an initial meeting; especially after the past discrepancies by other professionals, which I have patiently and graciously endured to my own detriment. It will be more effective and reasonable if the doctor can instead try to understand the progress and character of their patients in a dignified and empowering manner, before expecting them to revisit their most distressing and vulnerable experiences, which alone do not determine any person's worth or present capabilities.
I would like this doctor to take a a less degrading approach in future, so that mutual trust and respect can established, so that I can discuss any thing they require without experiencing extreme distress.
If the next review is not conducted in a more sophisticated manner, I will unfortunately be forced to seek legal advice, if a suitable replacement cannot be found, to ensure self-preservation and to address safeguarding concerns.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time this tactic has been used to disempower my progress, so that my discomfort keeps me dependant. However, it will be the last time it happens, without the consequences a civilised democratic society respectfully allows and requires.
