"Rudeness - not acceptable"

About: Denton Turret Medical Centre

Following my appt with GP I was directed to the toilets to carry out a urine sample and asked to hand in at reception and make follow up appt for blood tests. When attempting to do so there was nobody at desk I waited for a few minutes with no response to rang the bell behind desk. Two members of staff then appeared from the back telling me the surgery was closed. I explained the situation I that had just come from the GP appt (which itself had been 20 mins late) and needed to hand in sample and make further appt. The "office manager" rudely barked that they were in a meeting and closed and I needed to come back to do so. I again explained that I had just come out of the GP and was carrying out what I had been told to do. Eventually, she told the receptionist to just deal with me and she would speak to the GP which she stomped off to do returning telling us both that she had told her.

I fully appreciate that team meetings need to occur however, when appts have run late etc they cannot take priority over dealing with patients. Her manner to both myself and the receptionist was disgraceful and is not something I am willing to tolerate. To top off the experience I then find I cannot actually get out of the surgery as they've locked the doors. Perhaps a suggestion is to check if there are any remaining patients in the building before starting your team meeting and locking doors in future.
