"A large lump on my face"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Urology (Ward 11c) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / West of Scotland Major Trauma Ward (ward 1c)

(as the patient),

I was referred by my gp (x2) days into a large swelling/lump appearing on my face, jaw & neck.

It was not too sore but was very uncomfortable and quite worrying. It appeared very quickly and was getting larger.

I was initially being cared for in ward 11c and latterly ward 1c. I received iv antibiotics and fluids.

My initial diagnosis & subsequent treatment was outstanding! The nurses and auxiliary staff were brilliant - the level of care and attention that I received was superb, thanks.

The doctors that I saw helped me to understand the problem, explained my treatment plan & kept me updated. The hospital rooms I was assigned to were clean and warm (perhaps a wee bit too warm on ward 11c).

Dear apushr53

Thank you for taking the time to share this lovely feedback and your positive experiences in both 11c and 1c.

I can only imagine this was worrying time for you but its great to hear that you are on the road to recovery!

I will be sure to pass your comments on to the staff of both wards.

Best wishes,

Debbie Macintyre
