"Treated with kindness and respect"

About: North Devon District Hospital / General surgery

(as a service user),

Everyone was so kind and caring from the minute i arrived for my bi-lateral knee replacement. The staff put me at ease and although i felt anxious i knew i was in good hands. I understood after the operation there were a few issues but no lasting effects.

I spent four days in the ward and was treated with kindness and respect. It wasn't easy being in a lot of pain but with encouragement from the physios and determination i was soon up on my feet. I have to say thankyou to HCA Sue who does a great job.

So overall my stay at the hospital was easier than i anticipated.

Dear carinayc57,

Thank you for taking the time to post a response following your Bilateral knee replacements on Jubilee ward.

I am pleased that your anxiety was put at ease and that you felt that you were in good hands.

Bilateral replacements are sometimes more difficult and painful, and with your determination you managed to overcome and manage with the support of the ward team in your recovery.

I hope that you are coping well and that the pain has now resolved.

Sue is a very caring member of the team, and I will pass on your kind comments.

May we all wish you a continued recovery and all of the very best for the future.

Kind Regards

Julie Pragnell
