I visited the portsmouth st mary's hospital orthotic dept on the due to long-term (10yrs) pain in my feet.
Since an accident in feb 2014 I have been unable to walk without pain due to an injury to my (left) foot and this had been compounded by an accident & injury to my other (right) foot in Nov 2022.
I had tried talking to various gps & attended physiotherapy and was ultimately told that there was nothing that could be done. However, I eventually spoke to a practice nurse who knew that st mary's had an orthotics dept and as a consequence I was eventually referred.
I thought I was going to have to hobble in pain for the remainder of my days but the technician in the orthotics dept has given me a new lease of life.
With bespoke insoles I can now walk comfortably & free from pain and I am so grateful, I now look forward to walking off the 2stone of excess weight I put on in the last 10yrs.
It's such a shame that I cannot pass on my heartfelt thanks to the Orthotics technician.
"Exceeded all expectations "
