"All the staff were so attentive and caring"

About: Paediatrics / Paediatric surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was admitted to the children's ambulatory care unit for day surgery recently. Being in the nursing profession myself and having experience in anaesthetics, I found my anxiety levels rising as this was his first anaesthetic. Sometimes knowing too much is not always a good thing! However, our experience completely put us at ease.

I had got in touch with Laura the anaesthetist prior to his admission and she listened to all my concerns and a plan was put in place. All the staff, play staff and staff nurses were so attentive and caring and I couldn't have expected better care from the team for my little boy. Everything went smoothly and we are so grateful for all the care and understanding. It made being on the patient/parent side of the experience so much easier. He is doing so well and like a different wee boy post surgery. Thank you to all.
