I feel very lucky and thankful for the mobile Mammogram breast screening service. I found a lump went to my doctor and was red flagged to Antrim as we are in the Northern Trust.
Then in the post came my 3 Yr mammogram, this was day 24 after finding the lump. So I went and the lady was so nice and said they were the Western Trust and she would red flagged me to Altnagelvin. 8 days later I was seen at the breast screening clinic in Altnagelvin.
I had biopsies and scans and got provisional results on the day. I even got to see my surgeon Dr. Colin and was assigned a breast care nurse Carolann ( an angel). I felt they had taken control and they reassured me that they would now take care of me. Day 53 after finding my lump I've started chemo....I'm still waiting to get a mammogram from Antrim, the waiting list is 12 weeks, but luck was on my side and the mobile in Dunnes car park saved me.
"Thankful for the mobile breast screening service"
