"Appointments notification"

I missed a recent appointment for ultrasound scan at Stracathro. It was my error, I had neglected to put it in my calendar. The referral was made months ago. However, had I received a reminder text before what was a very busy weekend, I would surely have attended.

I have had in the past ten days reminders to attend other services, but not from Imaging. I am told by the appointment service at Arbroath that their system does not send out reminders.

It would seem that they would rather have the satisfaction of cancelling my referral, writing to the GP, having them contact me, the doctor then has to make another referral, the service then gets to put me on the waiting list and send out another appointment.

Jobsworth, inefficient and certainly not client friendly, in my view.
