Emily from Lochranza Ward is an absolute angel ❤️ We first met Emily in 2018 when my daughter was diagnosed with Leukaemia.
My earliest memory of Emily was when we’d got the devastating news and she was amazing at looking after my 2 other children who we had with us, keeping them distracted with painting and playing while we tried to get our heads around what we’d just been told about their sister.
Since then she’s continued to be a huge part of our little girls hospital stays, always there with plenty of crafts and toys to keep her busy and entertained. She's great with all the children organising messy play, baking, fun activities etc.
One day last year when we were in for a long stay and having a particularly tough time Emily brought a bracelet making set to our room and that started off something special. It gave my daughter something to focus on during treatment and she made bracelets for all of the staff on the ward (nurses were literally queuing up!) she went on to make some for the other children and parents.
We had requests from all over the UK and soon she’d made hundreds of bracelets … It wouldn’t have happened if Emily hadn’t brought her those beads along that day ❤️
We are so thankful for the amazing work that Emily and all the play specialists do x
