I'm continually appalled by the attitude of one of the new receptionists. I called to seek a result and the receptionist who answered said the result was there but she wasn't clinically trained to read the result. I asked for the numbers as I understand the numbers and she went to seek permission of the duty doctor to give the result. While she was doing this, the receptionist of African origin came on the phone saying the call had been handed over to her. Given previous encounters with her, I knew she was going to be obstructive and rude so I said I am being helped by someone else. She said she can't leave the phone line closed while the other person is waiting to speak to the Dr. I said, what is the point of having a telephone results option if when you call for a result, you can't get it? She said she needed the phone line and said she was going to put down the phone, which she did. I never got my result. This is such a terrible practice and this woman just gets everyone's back up for no good reason. Why on earth do they hire people like this? The practice are dealing with people going through difficult life experiences and people should be met with empathy and kindness. They should be doing everything they can to support people not winding people up for no good reason. She needs to learn some communication skills - she's truly awful. I've seen her in action with other people when I've been in queues at the practice. She rude, abrupt, obstructive and doesn't appear to have good problem solving ability. She shouldn't be dealing with people.
