"Happy, knowledgeable, kind and interesting staff"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy Newry and South Armagh / District Nursing

(as a service user),

I left hospital with a picc line fitted in January 2024. For the next three months I was given antibiotics nightly by twilight nurses. Originally I had bloods taken twice a week by district nurses, later this was reduced to once a week to change dressing and take bloods.

Both were enjoyable experiences by very happy, knowledgeable, kind and interesting staff.

I was able to obtain treatment at home, this enabled a bed to be freed up in hospitals for use by more urgent clients, I was able to receive the same hospital services at home in my own environment. This was also a more therapeutic treatment that I believe has helped my recovery

Hi outflowcc46,

Many thanks for leaving such positive feedback.

The Home IV coordinator inserted your picc line and coordinated your discharge out of hospital through District Nursing. She is a member of the OPAT team who ensured you were on the correct treatment and reviewed this for you.

We are very pleased to hear you had a good experience with us and that this continued at home with delivery via the twilight district nursing team.

I will be sure to pass on your kind words and I hope you remain well.

Many thanks,

Yvonne Murphy
