(as a service user),

My son who is autistic went to get bloods taken at Hunter Health Centre and was very nervous.

The lady who took him was fantastic with his took him through every step of the way talking to him and reassuring him.

She was a lovely lady who took time to calm and reassure him. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that medical procedures can be particularly challenging for individuals with autism, and we're grateful for the opportunity to recognise the compassionate care provided by the staff at Hunter Health Centre.

It's heartening to hear that the lady who took your son's bloods went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and reassured throughout the process. We understand the importance of patience and clear communication when working with individuals who may experience anxiety or nervousness during medical appointments.
