"Outstanding Care and Service"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Day Surgery Unit Royal Alexandra Hospital / Dental Service

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I recently visited Royal Alexandra Hospital Paisley day surgery dentist department with a resident.

The care the resident received from the minute we arrived to the very last second was outstanding. Stephen the nurse who was looking after our resident was the one of the kindest people I have ever meet, he was so compassionate and understanding, nothing was to much of bother and spent time getting to know the resident and how best to support him.

The service which was provided from the minute we arrived at the hospital was out of this world and I feel staff need to be recognised for outstanding care and services which they provide. Stephen also keep myself very informed while ensuring our conversations involved the residents, looking at the resident and speaking to him which I feel sometimes this element of care is forgotten about and staff will often speak to person who is with them.

Ian the manager was also outstanding and came to speak to me before I was leaving to ask me my opinion on the department which I also feel it’s a great experience to have a manager out on the floor as we can often sometimes get stuck in paper work, but Ian made that time to go round and speak to everyone.

I can honestly say this is best experience I have ever had being in a hospital setting supporting a resident and this team needs recognition for the outstanding care they are delivering. Care and compassion is one of the big elements of delivering care and can sometimes be forgotten about but in this department you could see the care and compassion was there every minute of the day.

Hi MadeJcKee

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such wonderful feedback. I was so pleased to hear how well this experience went for both your resident and yourself.

Dental treatment under these circumstance is very different from a routine visits and was glad that this was managed so positively and hope your resident has fully recovered after their dental care experience.

I will be sure to pass on your feedback the clinical dental team that carried out the dental treatment on the day.

Best Wishes

Catherine
