"CAMHS Urgent Intervention Team"

About: Children's Specialist Health Services / Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

(as a parent/guardian),

The team, in particular Ruth, probably saved my daughter from suicide. She was so low, we were so desperate for help!  She has been waiting for a Sandyford clinic appointment. As far as we knew, she had been on the waiting list since February 2022.

When Ruth managed to get in touch with the Sandyford (nobody else has managed this) she was informed that our daughter wasn't placed on the list until 2023. Thanks to Ruth, we got this sorted, and the date was amended. We owe her so much. Not only did she save our child mentally and physically but she also fixed her position on the waiting list at Sandyford.

Without this team, I have no doubt, my child wouldn't be here. The team also spotted our daughter has ARFID (Avoidant restrictive food intake disorder). A condition we had never heard of. Ruth has made the referral to the mainstream CAMHS team. I honestly don't know where we would be without this intervention or what would have happened.

My daughter is much happier and brighter now. Thank you to Ruth and the urgent intervention team.

Dear Parent,

Thank you for taking the time to leave this fantastic feedback. I am delighted to hear your child is no longer feeling suicidal and they have received the support and treatment they required to keep them safe. I have passed your feedback on to Ruth which "made her day". I wish you and your child the very best for the future and hope that the next part of their journey within the service continues to facilitate improvement in their symptoms.

Kind Regards,

Lisa Marie
