"Uncaring Practice staff"

About: Queens Park Medical Practice

I was late for my appointment due to the lack of parking and having a newborn with me, I tried to call but was on hold the full way there. I was only late by 10 mins.

I currently need an urgent referral to a specialist within the hospital after recently moving to the area but was denied access to the doctor only to see the physio who would not understand an autoimmune disease. However, I was made to feel inadequate and small by staff at the desk and reduced to tears with the offer of no other appointment till mid May.

I asked if I could call for an emergency the next day and apparently if you have had pain for a period of time it is no longer an emergency as stated by the "lovely" receptionist. So if you're thinking of joining this practice look elsewhere no compassion for someone in need and hitting a brick wall with the referral system, never mind juggling a crying newborn and a chronic illness flare up.

2-3 weeks for one appointment to have paperwork sent off while being in visible pain clearly isn't enough to be seen off a doctor or get past the bouncers at reception. Training should occur to access situations like this better going forward I would never want someone to feel the way I did today, helpless and stressed.
